I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
That's a great budget combo there ^^^
Either need to bore the 1100G pistons into the 1000 block (+2.0mm o.s.) or run the 1100 block but need to run the 1000 base gasket and deck the block about .020"-.039" approximately to make up for the stroke difference and bring compression ratio and quench height back to where it should be. The 750 cams will help with high end hp slightly, & can be had very cheap on eBay.
those k&n's for the 1990's Katana 600's bst34's had a part number starting with RU-####. Not sure they'd fit 38's though.
Thats actually kinda the exact setup id do if i went big bore.. it would be cheap fast and reliable. As for the bst38sss carbs i have, probably going to save them for something with more valves. At this point id like to find a set of bst33 or 34s. I tried to buy a 92 kat1100 the other day just for the carbs (bent frame no title but ran) but the guy backed out last minute. And go figure my 97 kat 600 is missing the carbs go figure haha
Ill definitely be interested, will pm you on that tomorrow. Just a question though. What carb boots would i need to run and is the spacing going to be right for the 1000 with cv carb boots? If you want some BST33's & K&N dual oval lunchbox filters, I have no use for these now since I have discovered Kawasaki VM28's and Mikuni VM29 smooth bores will be a direct fit to the GS650 head with GS400 intake spacers...
They are off a Katana 600, & I think the needles may need some tuning on an 1100 but may be good on a 1000 as they come off of a higher revving 600.
I am out of town but will be back Monday and can snap some photos. They were 91-96/7/8-ish 600 Katana carbs. 88/89 had bst31 (or 89/90) then bst33 until the late 90's then swapped to a different model. Let me know if these interest you. PM/email me if interested. Good luck either way you go.
I have the whole 1100 D port motor in one of my 1000Gs. Its noticeably stronger than the others. I didn't know until I had to change the starter clutch after 5 or 6 rears of ownership. Bigger diameter crank and different starter clutch.Probably that with the d port 1100 head pods jet kit and 4 to 1 is my plan for this year
I put a set in my Gs1000, I degreed them at 106. The top end was crisper and seemed to pull better. Would I do it again? Yep, Jerry
It's not which stock cams you use - it's where you degree them.
Put stock GS1000 cams on 107/109 lobe centers and be surprised...
On stock timings there's very little difference 750 to 1000 cams, just dial in the stock 1000 cams and save the money.
Whats stock ?
