A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am thinking on getting a 4 to1 and some pods.
I need some suggestions on which 4 to 1 to get and really don't want a loud one.

If someone could tell me which pods to get also.
Thanks

Hi

KN or other open pods + a open pipe + the right jets (Dyno stage 3) can give 8-10 % more HP, at top rpm.
KN filter in airbox + a open pipe + right jets (Dyno stage 1) can give 4-5 % more HP.And more torque at lov to middle rpm

I have V&H on my bike.

If you don't want a loud exhaust, I wouldn't buy a Jardine 4-1. Loud is relative of course to different people, but I have a Jardine and its a little too loud in my opinion.

If you don't want "loud", DON'T BUY A MAC.

Have one on my 650 and would gladly trade for a scuzzy-looking stock system. 8-[

I like the V&H chrome street megaphone. P/N 12005. Quiet enough unless you start to wind 'er up. Any freer flowing pipe is going to be louder. If you don't want the louder sound, keep it stock.
And the K&N's are the best filters.
This combo will allow you to cruise around town fairly quiet, but when you open it up it, it will be louder.

Here's the V&H I mentioned. If you've never seen it on a 1000.

How much you wanna spend?
Mine was $650, I have a 4-1 chrome Harris imported from UK, not too loud either.

Update on Vance and Hines sale

Update on Vance and Hines sale

The free shipping offer at MotorcycleSuperstore.com (no association) on orders over $75.00 has been extended till 4/20.

The Vance and Hines 4-1 system is still on sale for 269.99, also, the dynojet stage 1/3 kit is on sale for 113.99

Just giving you another heads up in case you want to go with the V & H pipe. I ordered mine on Thursday and the next day I got a tracking number, so it appears that this particular seller can go into the "good guys column".
Again, I have no association with the above named merchant.
