    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

44 & 46 Sprockets

A few weeks ago I was running a 46T rear sprocket and had some good runs.

330-- ET
4.23-- 6.62
4.26-- 6.68
4.25-- 6.66
4.26-- 6.65
4.25-- 6.65
4.25-- 6.65

Then last week I run the 44T

330-- ET
4.29-- 6.69
4.25-- 6.64

I did run alot more with the 44 but the rest were not in the 4.20's range.

So I'm going back to the 46 cause the bike is more consistence even with the extra shift into fourth gear. I was launching at 8K shifting at 10K.

I'm finally going with Dyna pickup, lockup and a new slick in the next week or two if it ever shows up. I'm hoping the lockup is more consistence too and was thinking the next step is an air clutch.

I've been running in our Quick16 and normally to make the field you have to run 6.80-6.90's and so far I have been the only bike to run. These's guys and gals all run electronic's so it's a big handicaped for me but I take alittle pride if I can put some of these dragster's and doorslamers on the trailer early.

Last time out I got fourth place and it was close one, I could of reached over and adjusted that's guy mirror going down the track. He got me by .10 so it must of been by a foot or two. Anyhow it was fun.
 
Go get em Jake!!!!!!!!!!!!! usually if you don`t have a ton of HP a lower gear will help you somewhat in the 1/8 mile. New slick will probably help a tenth or so.
 
As usual Jake thanks for the report.
I have decided to get an oversized and stretched swing arm for my susuki. I like 1/4 mile stuff and have always run geared up so i can launch easier. It may not be best for the run but i mainly just ride the bike on the street also.
This is why i m not going all out with cams and we are shooting fo tops 11/1 compression.
The gearing up is an old habit from the stroked sportsters that we worshiped in the 60s
 
Go get em. Those that rely on all the tech stuff to perform are not real racers. If you can do it with a more mechaical setup you will have a much better idea of what is really happening performance wise.

You just don't have a clue, do you?? Try running the pro circuit with no electronics and see where you end up!! The people who run the index classes are deadly.
 
I didn't think we were talking pro circuit here.

At the highest level when abilities tend to be more equal all the extra tricks matter. At clubman level a lot of people go for the tricks too early and don't learn the necessary skills first. It is amazing when really trick setups are beaten by far more basic ones. I am not just talking drags here either.
 
Ah, I get it. People who run the pro circuit are not real racers. Your making your point clear now.
