A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Clearly based on the travel plans you have 0 experience riding a hard tail more then 25 miles.

I well just post pics or post cities as we go through for ya bud. I well try and get a pre run photo to post I am hopeing for 30 or more people to run

Aside from what was already covered (extra fuel, possible electric issues, etc) I just want to add: take along an extra quart of cycle oil. While your jetting will definitely help to keep the motor cool, running low on oil can cook it even faster. If you do have any electrical problems on the road, the GS500 shares a lot of the same parts and can be found at a lot of bike breakers.

Good luck man!

thank you rich. and check and check. plann on bringing extra oil filters and doing a change about half way on the trip as well just to keep her happy. I have put about a 1000 miles on here in the last week and she is not leaking or burning any oil so far. so keeping my figures crossed. Good to know that alot of the 500 parts are swapable. Almost was thinking of buying everything even a motor and have it boxed up and ready to ship so my old lady can over night it to me if need be

I'd like to be a chiropractor, follow along on a Gold Wing towing a trailer with a table on it, charge a fortune to tune them up as they drop.

Do they do Sciatic Nerve replacements yet?

Keep a helmet cam on when u set out on that goldwing, the pot holes around mile 100 are gonna be a scream

It's a Gold Wing, son, we don't need no stinking helmet cams. We carry four full size high speed IMAX cameras and a cute photographer in a leather mini skirt.

Thanks, Steve, any problems getting the cameras loaded up? Where's my little photographer?

I'm feeling inspired by the OP so on Friday me and 30 people are going to pogo stick to hong kong

I got gps and a phone charger that well come in handy im sure. lol.. Pretty sure you would just fall asleep on that rolling couch

No, I'm sleeping in the trailer while my beautiful assistant drives. A man has got to know his limitations.

The cameras will be no problem, you will need another vehicle to carry the extra film, though.

Sorry, but you will have to provide your own photographer. My contribution is limited to vehicles at the time. :D

Nice weather out there, probably be in Idaho by lunchtime.

Edit; no time to stop though!
