DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

5.5" rim into a stock 82 GS1100E swingarm?

The search function does not like me very much...

Has anybody done this? I have all the bandit spacers, the axle, and caliper mount.

So, will it go into the stock GS1100 swing arm without too much trouble?? The rim is off of a 2nd gen Bandit 1200. If need be, I know the GS hub fits the rim for a bit more room...

Yes I did it with my Gs1100E 1985 with a 1995 Gsxr 5.5 rear rim,you have to cut you rown spacers and make sure frount is straight with the rear wheel.

Cool. I'll give it a shot. I have all the bandit spacers, so I'll start from there and work at it.

You need to get the wheel centered into the frame. The bandit swing arm has about 3/16" offset relative to a GS which is symmetrical in the frame.

If you used all Bandit parts then it would likely drop right into the GS frame and be centered. Once you start changing the carrier or the top had spacers as I described in the PM then you have to modify the spacers.

That's good to know the Bandit rim will fit the GS swingarm. Rob offered to make offset tophat spacers as he did for you, if I still want to use the bandit swing arm. He said he would trade me the spacers he sent for the cost of shipping.

Thanks Jim!

Yes,
I have a gsxr1100 5.5 wheel in a 1100e swingarm.
I just use a mix and match of gsxr and 1000e spacer to fit the wheel.

Thanks for the links, and advice via PM's Jim. Looks like I have some reading to do. :)
