DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

$5 carb sync tool questions

Just finished up my $5 carb sync tool, actually it's more like $15 as I had to replace two plastic T's with brass cause I broke them.

I am having some trouble getting it to work. I attached the tubing to the carb tops, and started up the bike fine. Then all the water, slowly leaked out of the system and into my engine. Is this an air leak in my design somewhere?? That's what I am going with, but thought I'd ask first.

How do I get the water to stay in the loop?

i tried that and you need to put some serious restrictors for it too work, problem is i was never able to find restrictors that small. looking at your diagram for a two cylinder bike all you need is a piece of hose making a u turn at the bottom and restrictors on both ends to keep it from pulsing.

Is it possible that there is more vacuum on one side of the motor pulling the water through?

I am diagnosing the ever common hanging idle issue.

Yes. That's why you are balancing the carbs, to get the vacuum even. ;)

Did you bench sync the carbs first? Hanging idle is typically an air leak in the intake somewhere. But it could also be due to badly unbalanced carbs.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Any chance you can chuck a pic or two up? I'm keen to try this a little later on rather than spending $70 - $100 on a tool I'll use very rarely...

Cheers KCorbin, just came across that this morning. Nice work :)

I've bookmarked the twin cylinder link you put in the post too.
