A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

'77 gs750 jetted for pods vm26 fuel screw

have the carbs off my '77 gs750 bc it mysteriously stopped firing on #2&3. Yes of course I went through those coil connections and verified spark.. anyway, with pods and stock exhaust with muffs chopped in half, about where should the fuel screw be set? It was at 1.5 turns out and it was running well but one was a tad off then I was thinking of going richer. Everything I could find said factory setting was between 1/2 & one turn out snd one guy said start out setting the air screw on the side double what you set the bottom fuel screw. Oddly enough my air screws were set at 1.25 turns out. And yes it was running pretty smooth (docile but smooth, I see my points are around 0.014" vs the spec 0.018"). I bought this bike along with a gs1000 and only tried to get the 750 running smooth which it did, for sale with some facelift. Just set points to 0.018" and static timed. Fuel screws set to 1.25 turns out and it doesn't want to idle. Not firing on 1&4 but coils, points, condensers, and wiring checks out ok

I take it by “not firing” you mean that you got known spark, but cylinder ain’t getting hot.
Have you replace the head boot o-rings ? Maybe the boots themselves?

Whoops sorry for way late reply.. yes it was looking like a coil or point set but made no sense jumping for 1-4 to 2-3 & I went through to swapping points snd condensers but think my final fix was connectors sinking current to the points
