I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I have a 78 gs1000e with the original brake lines front and rear. 36 years seems like a long time so, cyclebrakes.com sells front lines for an 82 gs1000e, will these fit? Also, what can I do about the rear line?

Some OEM lines are still available. Most folks have them made or do them themselves. Search feature and youll find many threads on the subject. try things like home made brake lines, etc etc.

Heres some cross referenced info. Use these as a search material in finding whats compatable. Although the rear one is model specific according to the charts, I suspect someone knows of one that will transplant.

Thanks for the responses. I see that the front lines are still available from Suzuki for about $100. The back one is discontinued. Many posts on this forum speak about the improved feel in switching to braided stainless lines. Is this compared to new rubber lines or just compared to old rubber?

Not worth buying new rubber line, unless you want the 100% stock look. $107 shipped to my door, all the front and all the back, crush washers included. Good guy to deal with, he's also got stuff on ebay. If you don't see what you need, just call him. Rennsport - http://www.rennsportautoparts.com/

Just order some stainless steel lines. Much better brake feel, last forever.

I changed to SS brake lines on one of my bikes and did not notice any difference in braking. With that said, the nice custom made brake lines from Rennsport not only look better but they even cost LESS than new ones from Suzuki.
It is a no brainer.
