    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here is a vid of it running, getting gas from a lawnmower gas tank (gs tank is full o' rust)

Only runs with the choke on and dies as soon as throttle is applied. Though it currently has no air filter or air box, what could be the issue aside from getting to much air when the choke is not on?

Pods ordered and am picking them up tomorrow. Hopefully that helps a bunch. Also have no idea what jets are in the carbs, I am assuming they are stock.

It has a 4-1 Supertrapp exhaust on it and not sure about the engine internals.

the first thing you should do is remove your carbs, strip em and dip em. that way you will know they are perfectly clean before you go any further. you can check what jets are installed and make sure everything is in good order, o rings, float heights etc.
then you have a base to start with prior to working out what will be required to give you a rough start when fitting the pod filters.

Thanks, going to get a few bins and some pinsol from the dollar store later. 50/50 mix with water and soak for a day or 2 :) Hopefully that helps.

No I did not :o thanks!

Going to order a bunch of things from the supplier list on there :)

Save the money on the Pine Sol and just go to Walmart and get the proper can of Berrymans carbs and parts cleaner. Do the job right ONCE!!.

Get the orings from cycleorings.com ( Robertbarr here on the forum) and get new intake boot orings as well.

Go to any new owner thread and click on one of the megawelcomes and get busy reading.

ALL the maintenace needs done..carbs 100% torn down, valves adjusted, carbs vacuum guage synced.

You can throw a Tshirt rag ( one layer thick ) over the throats of the carbs and that will duplicate the negative air that the ( stock ) air filter was designed to do..see the carbs need an ever so slight rersistance at the throat so they are forced to sip fuel from the bowls. Otherwise its a pain to make carbs actually work as they should.

Thanks guys :)

Will read through all of that soon, and just ordered the o ring kit.

Also, can I use the R/R off of my 2000 Honda VFR 800 on the GS? I want to clean up the wiring a little bit.
