i am very new to the gs world, I’ve recently acquired a 79 gs850 from a co worker that was not running. I got it back the house, adjusted all the pilot screws to what the carb faq specified, got the bike running but it was spewing enough gas to fill the filter up (stock air box) it would run ok flat ground but on inclines it would die. The carbs were apart cleaned and rebuilt using a Japanese kit from eBay per the previous owner. My question is I have the factory jets and parts he replaced, should I re o-ring them and install or should I attempt to tune the new stuff he put in? I also found the fitting for the fuel line between the two inner carbs rotates relatively freely, is this normal?
