I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

'79 gs1000e mystery front wheel hub spacer & grease seals?

I'm replacing front wheel bearings and as I'm taking them apart, I see there are no grease seals in my front wheel./. Now I know I bought an all balls wheel bearing kit P/N 25-1147 http://www.allballsracing.com/wheel/25-1147.html which comes with two bearings and two grease seals and it is supposed to be for the '79 gs1000e but are the seals just included to make the kit cover other wheel bearing applications?? right now I'm having trouble finding the seals anyway but I will find them.

And perhaps more importantly, I looked at the front wheel assembly on partzilla to see if they show grease seals (THEY DON'T) but in addition to the hub bearing spacer that sits within the hub between the bearings, on the right side, outside of the bearing, they show a bearing spacer ( P/L item 7 part number 54740-18402 FR HUB RH SPACE) and the used on shows it as required for the 1979 GS1000 EC and 1979 GS1000EN. I'm in the USA and my side covers just say GS1000E. What is a GS1000E vs a GS1000 EC vs a GS1000EN? oh, and in addition to the item 7 part number 54740-18402 FR HUB RH SPACER, the Partzilla diagram also shows right and left side axel spacers (item 8 Part number 54741-49000 FRONT AXLE SPAC).

were some of these bikes sold with wider front ends and then only require the P/L item 7 part number 54740-18402 FR HUB RH SPACE

aha! I'm such a retard. answered my own questions.. I found the grease seals and they don't fit my hub so that's my answer, they are in the kit for another bike.. and I now see the right and left side axel spacer which live in the bottom of the fork legs//
