All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.
A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

OK,I got one question though. How do you ride with your knees on your ears?![]()
So maybe it won't run 100% perfect. So I spent $8. I used my brain a little. It sounds like you guys are trying to tell people not to think. I've done my research on non-factory air filters. I know that everyone says not to do it. Well I'm not just going to do something because a bunch of people on the internet say to use the stock box. I'm going to try something of my own thought. So please, let me fail and learn from my own mistakes.
/telling me not to do this & how terrible it will run
Don't you know you have to be an engineer to try to do something like that.
Good thing I'm an engineer then!
p.s. if you don't like my air filters then you'll probably hate this

I still think it's b!tch'nAfter seeing this, you should hope it never runs. What kind of engineer did you say you were?
And the bike, well, it looks akward. Like half of its missing and you can barely reach the bars from the seat. And the exhaust looks like it belongs on a home made go kart or something. If the engine turns over and the wheels roll then it has potential though.
Some people just like to tinker, why can't people handle that? And there's always performance to be found in a stock bike, it's not like thier performance race bikes.
alot have been there done that and returned to stock setup, or at least tried and true methods.
Keep the pics coming and move this thread into Projects and Rebuilds so we can follow this.

I can always go back.
I had a thread a couple months ago but it disappeared, suppose I'll have to start another one.
Let's hope he answers! I love outside the box thinking, as long as one understands it might not work very well. After seeing this, you should hope it never runs. What kind of engineer did you say you were?

Nothing wrong with experimenting with stuff- many have before you and many will after you. But you have to appreciate the technology that has evolved in carbs/ fuel injection systems. These bikes were designed by engineers who pushed the limits without losing reliability and rideability. Thinking they have missed something simple is naive. Don't get offended - people on this site are just offering their advice assuming you would like to have a decent running bike without a lot of effort.Electrical :n)
