    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey fellas (yes fellas is PC in Australia, it means chicks too!) I was checking out bikes on the net and came across this one. What do you think of this model and its value. I think it would be around $4000 US. How much do they go for in other countries?

well without much info,it's hard to say.

Some have been sold for about $2000USD to $4000 for one in great shape.



How many miles/KM? What kind of condition?
Stock or altered?
 
Well it look's in mint condition, and it's won trophy's for it's restoration.
If it's motor is in the same condition the price is good.
If you did a restoration your self it would cost more.

Couple of questions.....where's the correct dash?
In the US we got a clock, oil temp and gas/fuel guage.
Where's the choke? Again in the US we had a choke knob, pull type, mounted on the dash, below the ignition.
These could be differences between Us and Euro/Aussie models.

Robinjo may know if this is true.

Otherwise, as stated earlier, if it runs as good as it looks........

What's the conversion from USdollars to Autralian dollars?
Curious as to what it would be priced here in the US.
 
KGB I think the exchange is around US$0.70 for our dollar. Making it US$4000 for the asking AUS$5500.

As for the other questions, hmmm not sure. From what I can tell Europe and Australia seemed to get detuned bikes compared to the States. Having a different dash sounds odd though. Wouldn't have thought Suzi would have gone to that trouble. Anyone care to post a pic of the US version please?

No, it was the other way around,the US had tighter emission laws and often had to put up with leaner fuel mix.
There was allways small diferences cosmeticaly between US/UK,AUS.
 
KGB the dash is correct for the 1980 version, also other blinkers, slotted discs, rectangular master cylinder, different foot peg arrangement and probably other small stuff too.

The carbs are not, should be vacuum ones, but the Ozzies screw around with different carbs on several models, choke is probably on the left side of the carbs itself.

Wheels are white, brake anchor, chain case and swing arm are chromed, seat is too low, wrong color and missing the passenger bar, it has a mud flap :? , bar ends, cut down rear fender (maybe) and are the cases supposed to be black :?:

I would not call this a Restoration, but just a very nice bike.
 
I just dug out a copy of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics 9/2002 (UK) the model they have there (1980) gauge set is as KGB said, look's like choke in centre of head stock, round indicators,chrome grabrail.
77c AU to the US.
 
I don,t think its an orgingal 80 model 1000S(t)
It does not have the STD rear sets, The motor bottom end is painted black
instead of the STD silver..
While a nice bike.. she is far from STD and orginal..
