If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

80 GS1100 Carb leaking after storage. What type of fittings does the rack use?

Had the rack off last year and had them cleaned in ultrasonic to remedy stuck needles. They were like new when done.

Bike ran great last year and then sat in storage with Aspen fuel in tank (a great fuel that does not break down / very popular here in Canada)

Bike started in the spring and ran with no issues. After about 3 months of sitting I fired it up and fuel started leaking from the right carb. Appears to be from the fitting that joins the two on that side. I suppose the rack needs to come out. My fuel may have caused the o-rings to shrink. Had this issue with my XS11 and with no replacement parts available I soaked the seals in a solution that got them soft and pliable again and re-assembled with no issues. The fuel is great and can last years but I suspect it may shrink o-rings (not dissolve them as the stuff is not caustic... it does not dissolve styrofoam) I fear this might be a side effect of Aspen fuel.

I don't remember what the fittings are like on the carbs and was wondering if they are metal with replaceable o-rings.

Anyone know if they are an easy rebuild with readily available parts or are they one piece proprietary fittings like the Yamaha?

Rack will have to come off again but can't get around to it for a few days and wonder what I am to expect?

Anyone?

The carbs on my 1100 and 850 both have metal tees with replaceable o-rings.

Two outer fuel connectors use 4 o-rings each and the center T-connector does not use o-rings. Usually not a problem though. I'd go ahead and order a complete o-ring kit from cycleorings.com and be ready to do a complete rebuild. Might as well since you're going to have to de-gang the carbs to replace those fuel o-rings.

Are you sure it is not coming from the vent T?
Sounds like a stuck float needle. Give the leaky carb a couple of taps with a hammer on the bowl.
