All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.
A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just read your entire thread... great job so far. I had actually watched one of your YouTube videos when I was shopping for a 1000G. The one I bought is in Colorado, but should be here around the end of the month. Like you, I can't wait to get on it & ride.
Interesting trivia (for me) seeing as how you have a Honda 550F and a GS1000G. I traded in a 1975 550F for my then new 1000G in 1981. I had bought the 550F from my current wife's then-current husbanda year earlier. He owned the only bike shop in town (and I didn't know either of them at the time, met her years later). Small world.
Looking forward to some more updates!
Well I have been working on the carbs, having a heck of a time with the air box for some reason. Also any one know where I can get a chart of the vacuum lines and where they go? I don't have any in the manual I have in fact it does not mention them at all.
Happy New Year to you all!
Scott..
Hi Scott,
Happy New Year!
For the info you need about the hoses please to go Basscliff's web site and look up his write up on "where do these hoses go?" (or something to this effect). Cliff has done you right with his write up and the info is there for you to reference.
Two other things I am hoping to get help with.
1) I would like the mounting bracket for the Shadow Royal fairing I have, I plan to use it on long distance runs. I have a group of guys here that goto the mountains for a week over the summer, things like that.
2) I need a right hand side cover. Searching ebay and GL has yielded nothing to date.
Thanks,
Scott..
