    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

81 gs1100 wiring diagram

Hello all

I am looking for the wiring diagram for the gs1100 81 model.
I have the Clymer manual but it is missing the last couple of pages which completes the diagram and was wondering if it was available electronic anywhere or if someone could be so kind to scan and email it to me.

This would not be copyright infringement cause i have paid for the book ;)

I have an intermident fault in my wiring i believe where my bike just dies now and then while riding.
It loses all power and has been only for about a second but today it died to the point where i had to pull over but just as i was about to stop it come back to life enough to get me home around the corner.
I am sure its not fuel as it completly loses power with no indication or warning and it is slowly getting worse.

Clean the fuse posts with fine grade sandpaper and use plenty of dielectric grease. Replace all old fuses. Clean all grounds and connections especially battery and solenoid connections.
 
I have a Clymer manual for a shaft-drive 1100. Don't know if that will help you, but I will scan what I can and send it to you.

Well, I just looked in the book. Seems the only 1100s in there are GKs and GLs. Think that might help anyway?

I just checked my manual and the correct diagram page has 1980 GS1100ET & GS1100EX on the top of the page.
It is a 2 page diagram but i only have the first page.
The manual has two bike diagrams and the first is for the GS1100LT which is only a one page diagram but this one is incorrect as it shows as having gear selected indicators which my bike doesn't.

Maybe i just answered my own query on the model and it to be a GS1100EX?
