A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

81 GS550T Full Rebuild...In Ohio

If at first you don't suck-seed, suck again until you do suck-seed.:D

Nice one Scott, can't wait to see the results, long time coming, I have to keep reminding myself that you poor buggers only get to work and ride in seasons.
I can't wait to do my tank and get the paintwork done, but I have vowed to leave it until last, as I know it will get dinged otherwise, and if I drag anymore "garage stuff" inside, I will be sleeping out on the lawn in the tent.

What are your plans for paint?

Same color as I tried in October. I'm not touching the paint gun this time and will let my friend do it all so it should turn out better. I will, however, do the sanding so there's still a chance at having a major screw-up:p.

That's the wrong attitude. There is also a chance it will come out perfect.

80?

On second thought, slap a white star or some military looking numbers or something on that green primer tank and ride it. I got a lot of compliments on my 650 while it was in green primer. Or Olive Drab, if you prefer.

The paint is a PPG DBC/DBI PCL/KCL Blue Streak Pearl B/C code number 931299 found on the Avenger, Dart, and Caravan (sorry I was mistaken as the other one I'd considered was found on the Viper). I'm really looking forward to what it will look like once we're done.

Here's a picture of a Dart with it.

Wow that's a lot of letters. You sure you're not a pilot?

Yeah, I bet if the 777 had all those letters installed they would have found it by now. ;)

It's Finished

It's Finished

Yep, I finally sanded down the tank and side covers this week and my friend polished them for me today. It's not perfect but I'm happy with how it runs and looks. I still need to add a voltmeter and a different license plate bracket but those will come as time permits. Sure felt good to put the emblems back on that's for sure.

That's a great color, and it's good to see it whole again. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person next week.

Hmmm.... I owe you a PM.

Thank you Dale. If you are going to be at Jim's tomorrow then you'll see it then as I'm planning on riding down.

Nice work there grasshopper, love that colour, she really looks the bussiness now.
