Planning on installing new drive plates in a couple weeks, and wondered if OEM Suzuki plates, or aftermarket was the way to go (Barnett/EBC). Have the original factory 1982 plates in the bike right now. Installed new springs (OEM) last year which took care of some high rpm slip (had measured plate thickness with a mic, and found them well within spec)..... till last week, when it slipped momentarily when I clicked off a downshift, coupled with throttle, to pass a bunch of cars. Rotella-T 15W-40 oil, changed earlier that same day. Properly adjusted clutch cable.
Looking on ebay, I'm seeing many clutch plate sets labeled '82/'83 1100E'.....doesn't the '83 have thinner plates, in order to accommodate an extra drive plate?
Here's an example....input on these EBC kevlar plates would be appreciated too, if anyone here has tried them.
