ive been purchasing many high performance parts, machine work for my 82 gs 1100 gl (shaft drive). to be a fast street bike : 4mm overbore, port and polish head, cam grind (streetable), 4-1 performance exaust, many other parts ect...

these are the parts i need :
part# 12776-49010 holder, guide #1 and bolt if possible. this holds the bottom of the timming chain. mine is shredded.

1mm oversized from stock valves (this is a 2 valve motor) any links ?

oil cooler and adapter any links ?.

side covers to be painted, any color, best possible please.

does anyone have directions, pics, links on welding the crank on this bike ? is it helpful to have the vin # ? JS1GU71L1C2102012

I gotta ask, Why are you building a ported 1200cc shaft drive bike? Im not sure how much power a shaftie can withstand. You might be better off looking at a different bike to start with. A good running stock 82/83 1100E would run away from your overbuilt shaftie, they are just too damn heavy.

If you must build the GL, why not just weld the crank, get a new basket and give it a 100hp shot. It would have great street maners and more power than you would know what to do with. I've seen stock motored 550 lb chain bikes in the low 9's on the gas...

I wouldn't make a drag bike out of it. Don't let them fool you the G can make a good street preformance bike. Send the crank to falicon Don't try to do it, It needs to be indexed and set up in a jig before welding or you could end up with a door stop

Go ahead and build that shaftie. Sooner or later a chain 1000 will come along and you could swap out the parts to the chain bike.

If I had a shaftie, I wouldn't try to hop it up any more than stock. IMHO, it's a waiste of time and money. Don't try to make it something it isn't.
