DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know if a stock exhaust from a 1982 gs 750 will mount on a 1982 gs 650as far as header pipe spacing I am in desperate need of one since my bike came with awful headers straight to the ground and this exhaust is only 50 dollars on the local craigslist

I'm not positive but pretty sure those won't fit. The 650 was begat from the 550 which is a smaller platform. If you find some 550 pipes, other than those from the 16V engine type bikes, they should fit up to your 650 head no problem.

The pipes for the 550 are smaller then the ports in the 650 head, but it's easy enough to make little spacers to hold them in place.

Thanks for the input guys I did wind up going and buying the pipes yesterday anyways because they were only $50 and in pretty good shape for the money if they don't fit the 650 then maybe my 80 1100E? I doubt they will though I think the spacing is too wide on the 1100 for the heads, if nothing else I can resell on here because I'm sure someone could use a decent exhaust in the gs forum world

The 750 pipe may fit the 1100E head since those engines share some parts.

That would be great because the exhaust I have on the 1100E is a stock Yamaha maxam with the adjustable heads (A friend gave them to me for free so no loss there either way) so I could actually just swap that to the 650 for the time being until I can afford an exhaust that I want, I'm thinking a 4-to-1, but I'm really just too broke to think right now anyways. Also I found a post about putting the same 750 exhaust on an 1100 and it bolted right up so I feel like there's some truth to it.
