I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey guys,

What differences between the 82 vs 83 am I looking at if I try swap in bandit upgrades. Many of you have upgraded your 83's and I'm wondering if there are bolt-on front end / back end bandit swaps I can make for my 82.

I thought I remember seeing a chart that outlines which bandit parts to looks for , for specific year GS's.

thanks

if that pic in your sigline is yours, the only upgrade id do is maybe go to chrome valve covers for the wheels. that bikes in awesome shape...:D

yeah It's mine :D. Would like to upgrade the riding performance. The engine performance suits me just fine (I went back to stock ).

Ditching the stock shocks for better quality items will make a huge difference....I'm assuming you have already upgraded the fork springs. The Gixxer/Bandit conversions look pretty cool, and probably perform very well too, but even the stock 1100 can be hugely improved with careful selection & set-up of suspension & choice of tires..... if you don't mind the old school appearance.

I love the apperance as is. Just would like a better suspension set up, and perhaps a wider tire. I've ripped this thing through many a twisty. Just want to get her closer to inspiring even more confidence and feeling a bit more modern in the handling department.

I put a pair of NOS Marzocchi shocks on mine, Progressive fork springs (blended #10 & #20 oil), fork brace, and am pretty happy with the ride & handling, with an Avon RR 130 rear tire......only reason I would invest time & $$ for the modern running gear would be for the cosmetics.....the look with the 180 tire is fantastic.;)

so, how much money we talking for your upgrades?

I already have progressive springs in the front.... I've would def love to slap a fork brace on

New Ikon shocks are available from Z1 I believe, for less than $300....pretty decent & fully adjustable.

The IKONs have been out of stock at Z1 since January...
I email them regularly and they keep promising they will have them soon.

I will probably stop waiting soon and just pay the $325 direct from IKON.

I've got a set of Ikons for a gs1100e that I've used for maybe 50 miles and swapped for 1" longer units since I've got GSXR wheels and forks and needed to raise the rear a bit. I'd sell them for $250. One of the springs has two small spots on the two lowest rings where the chain rubbed the paint off but they're in perfect shape otherwise . I'll get pics if anyone is interested. PM me.

J
