A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

82 gs1100e - what size air jets?

I have just finished rebuilding two racks of bs34 carbs -- off 82 gs1100e's. I have a goobered up air jet and it is a #160. Both carbs have 160's, but I wonder if putting in #170's would be a good option or upgrade. I am running it stock right now with 115 main jets.

I guess I can order four 170's or one 160...and pay big shipping cost on either.

Anyone know what size air jets the 83 1100e came with?

No reply's, so I will post what I learned from Basscliffs site and what I have decided to do.

The 82 83 1100e's came with different set ups between years and countries.

Since I have changed the mains to 115's, I guess I will follow the factory configuration for the bikes that ran 115 main jets... which means I will change these air jets out and buy four new 170's.

Does anyone knows a cheap source for 4 new or used 170 air jets, 2 float bowl drain bolts, and 4 rubber pilot jet plugs?

Main Jets!!!!

Main Jets!!!!

Stock 115s huh?

My '82 GS750 had stock 112.5s until I installed my V&H/4-1, then I went to 117s--worked out perfect!

Good luck with your's...post pics!

Surprised that the resident 4-valve expert has not been helpful and answered this question by now. Perhaps you need to call him? (Rapidray)
Or, you could just ask Blowerbike.

I think I have all of what you need.
Changing the pilot air jet from stock will only affect idle and has nothing to do with the main jet.

Thanks Chef. If it wont affect anything I guess it makes financial sense to just buy the one #160 then along with the 2 drain bolts and 4 pilot jet plugs. I guess I will PM you if you are willing to part with those parts.
