DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys, I am new to the site, and new to Suzuki's.

I picked up a 82' GS1100E back in April and am in the process of turning it into a brat/cafe racer. Almost done, just have to tackle the rear end now.
I did a 2006 Kawasaki ZX10R front end swap on it, and picked up a 2007 ZX6e rear wheel for it. Along with the rear wheel, i picked up the 2007 ZX6e rear break bracket and a 2006 ZX10R rear brake caliper.

The ZX6e rear wheel fits on the stock GS1100E swing arm, along with the brake bracket.
Just wondering if anyone has done, seen or dealt with any ZX wheel swaps for the GS.

I am also having a hard time finding axle spacers for the rear. Are there any out there or do i have to make some myself?

Besides that, does anyone know the torque specs for the starter clutch nut? Every 3 times i start the bike, the nut comes loose and i cannot figure out why.

Here is a picture of the bike with the rear wheel mocked up to see how it will look. (don't mind the sloppy white wording on the tire, it came that way)

Thanks in advanced

Thanks for the help.

As for the carbs, i have Mikuni RS36 carbs, they are 36mm.

Bike looks great! Love the wheels and front end. Not coming from the GS family sets it off nicely and looks much different than other builds. Is it safe to assume that with the 36mm carbs there are other motor mods? Couple of things. I believe there are a couple threads/mods to help with starter clutch issues. I'm no expert, but I believe modded motors may have more starter clutch issues. Be careful with that loose rotor nut as it can damage the crank end. Back in the day, our tech's would use valve lapping compound on the crank end and rotor, lapping the 2 surfaces, then red loctite as stated above.

Thanks!! Actually, no mods have been done to the motor, at least not yet. Still, and always will be, a work in progress.
