I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all after about 10 minutes of riding or just idling the bike stalls wont restart till it cools some , has new dyna system . I noticed today when the bike is acting up there is 8.5 cranking volts at the orange white stripe ignition wire . when it cools there is about 10.5 volts the bike will restart , when rpms are up there is 11.6 volts , any ideas . Thanks Vince add on I just checked the voltage on the red wire that powers the fuse box 12.4 volts un plugged 4 pin connector that powers the bike 9.5 volts out of the fuse block could the fuse block be bad ??????

There is a link on this site for "The Stator Papers" you should find it and read it. The voltage seems very low to me. Very low indeed.

charging voltage at the battery is 13.7 volts with the bike running , I was talking actual ignition voltage bike always has cranking power looses ignition voltage , Thanks

Think I'm dome playing got a bocsh relay coming to power coils and dyna .

Not going to try and clean up contacts or check wires? The notion of a marginal charging sytem's impact is too far fetched for you to do the stator tests?
You clearly are below manual specified voltage at 13.7

I got what your saying I found the ground for the Regulator grounded on a rubber mount t the battery box , suspect changed it . I thought the power to R/r should be fresh also should it be switched power , I think so ???? and the stator to the regulator connections cut and solider or just check and pack with diletric grease ? I did double check charging system it is weak don't want to throw parts at it , Thanks Vince

I did print the stator papers off of Basscliffs site and rechecked the charging system and it was lower then 1st tested 13.2 Thanks again Vince

I have had symptoms similar to yours in the past but had no tester to know my voltages in the ignition.
The undercharged battery in my case would bounce back after sitting a while. It steadily depleted till it refused to take a charge at all.

Basscliff had an article on here speculating that his bike had problems but tested OK per the stator papers. He says that the stator wining heated up and failed when hot only to cool and work again??

If you do a coil relay mod you may get by but will only add another layer of complexity to the problem.

When you do the AC tests leg to leg (with stator disconnected from r/r), make sure you do a leg to ground test in case the stator is grounding out on itself. This offers clues, BUT nothing is as conclusive a test as actual running. When stator is outputing its normal current level, magnetic forces are tugging at windings-possibly causing issues that won't be apparent in those tests.
During normal running above 3000 rpm, with lights on ,I expect to see 14 + volts at battery - anything less would make me suspicious that charging system isn't at 100% .
