A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Clutch switch is disabled i think the 2 ends are soldered together this. is the ways it was before my problem so i know bike will work with wires this way....My only thought could be a bad starter relay again.... i am going to try and get one from napa to day as opposed to the suzuki one which ive allready had 2 bad ones.. Any other thoughts????

Are you pulling in the Clutch?

Are you pulling in the Clutch?

My inputs anyway....

-For the bike to start, the clutch has got to be engaged. As you say it started once, I would guess you know that already.

-Step 1 should be to check voltage on battery. If its too low she won't crank or do anything. Is the battery new? On a trickle charger? If not new, you may want to pull it and have it checked at Autozone...could have a full charge but drop off too quickly under load.

-Assuming voltage is good on the battery, I'd wrap a rope around the clutch pull to keep it engaged to have a hand free. Check voltage at the solinoid when you hit start, if voltage is good, check the voltage at teh starter motor (below the carbs under a metal cover)...follow the wire. If you've got good voltage at the screw where the wire disappears you're next step is to pull the starter out and clean it. PITA to get it out, but can do it without removing the carbs off the bike.

Once you get it started, rev it up to 4-5k and check voltage at the battery to see if you're charging system is working or not.....

don't chase guesses.....

don't chase guesses.....

follow the voltage before you start replacing parts that might be fine....there are brushes inside the starter motor that wear down over time...also when I cleaned mine the first time it was pretty coated with grease/grim between the brushes and the copper spindle of the starter....

Have allready done voltage checks. Bike starts it I arch solenoid. Clutch switch is disabled. Just need to know wher to put yellow/green wire on new solenoid below
