A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok so the problem seems to be between 4-7k rmp it gets choppy there and spits and sputters it pulls hard after it makes it past 7 so that would be towards the needle position but I've literally adjusted it 10 times, like I was just cruising in 4th gear at 4k rpm gave it throttle and it's just bogs and stays there I'm at a lost about to give up on this bike I bought it Wednesday of last week have been messing with it every day since I'm at my wits ends with it

A week is nothing. Of the 21 posts in this thread before mine, since last evening, most of them are yours, in a sort of stream-of-consienceness rant. Chill, give the people here with some knowledge a chance to respond to one thing at a time.

Welcome to the forum, and to working on vintage bikes. But if you’re looking for instant gratification, you picked the wrong bike, and the wrong hobby.

I'm not looking for a instant answer I am posting the running condition of the bike as it's constantly changing so to give more of a understanding of what the bike is doing, and if a week is nothing for this bike seems to be a trouble some bike I'm unemployed so when I say over a week I mean from the crack of dawn till dark for about 9 days straight

Ok thanks so yea I probably need bigger mains then before it was at low rpm but I think all the tinkering I got the bottom end lined out, I questioned it being mains at first but I felt like with 135 on cylinder 1&4 and 137.5 on 2&3 those should be plenty big, but the jets 6 Sigma uses I think in mikuni jets those would me 117.5 & 120

Would the main jet being to small cause it to struggle under load at lower rpms around 4k

No that's the needles I'm pretty sure, it goes fuel mixture screws, needles, pilots, then mains, I wish I had this graph somebody posted before it shows how they work in sequence to the powerband.

Here it is, I know somebody has a link for the tuning procedure, unfortunately dont know who.

Ok so I stuck a small peice of tape over the little port on the back of the carb on the right side not the air jet screw but the other one and it seems to be running without a problem?!? Lol

Cb, do you mean the one the red arrow is pointing to in this pic? If so, it should be blocked. You have a 750 T, like mine, but I?m running stock airbox, so can?t help you with jetting problems, but may be able to help with lots of other stuff. Love to see another T on the forum.

Sorry if I may have come come across as a bit gruff in my first response to you. But it is helpful for those trying to help you, if you try to collect your thoughts in one post, rather than to keep making posts. It looks like a one-sided conversation, all you.

Here?s some useful stuff to consider:

Make a signature with your bike year and model, then you?ll never have to remember to type that. And people won?t have to go back and see if you included that info in the first post of the thread.

If you haven?t already, read through the top 10 Newbie mistakes thread. Linked in my Signature.

If you don?t have one already, download a factory Service manual from BikeCliff?s website, this one- GS750 (16-valve; LT, LX, EX) Service Manual (17MB) is not exact but close enough for most things. another extremely valuable resource. Bookmark that site. Linked in my signature. Here?s a link to a supplement for the T, very helpful with lots of things specific to this model.

If you?re interested in posting pictures, you need to have pics on a pic hosting site like Imgur. Instructions linked in my signature.

And I was trying to figure out how to add my bike to my signature but couldn't find it, and it's all good man I understand what you were say bike had me so frustrated, but I've been riding it all day with the tape on it and it's been running smoothly, I seen on the dynojet kits they come with a little metal plug with a smaller hole in it that gets glued into that port I'm going to try and find time rubber plugs I can drill a small hole in and put in there instead of the tape lol

For signature go to settings at the top right of any page, then look in the left column.

Ok so its the main air jet passage I have to block off for it to run right

Yea really odd but through alot of searches I found a form from a guy in the uk that had some main air correctors he said the company didn't make them any more but they were a must back in the day for kz and gs when you put pods on them
