A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have searched for this topic but to no avail.
Haynes calls for NGK B-8ES, but I know this is for the earlier models as the listed plug is too big
The bike currently has NGK DR8ES-L.
Is this correct or does anyone have any guidance.
("R" has a resistor ?? doesn't the plug cap already have one?)
Help.

These are what show up when I do a search on alpha-parts.com... Item #21 for an 82 GS750E.

SPARK PLUG (NGK, D8EA)
SPARK PLUG (ND, X24ESU)

(Edited)
Did a little more research, found this site that may help.
http://www.sparkplugs.com/sparkplug411.asp?kw=Heat+Range+Interchange+(NGK-Denso-Champion)&mfid=0

If you go to the left side of the page, there is a wide yellow bar with links to technical charts. Go all the way to the bottom and you'll see a heading titled "Manufacturer's Numbering System" If you click NGK beneath that it will open up a chart illustrating what every letter and number on an NGK spark plugs means. Possibly this will help you cross reference and determine exactly what you need.

Thanks,
Also found this: NGK/DR8ES-L Spark Plug - Suzuki GSX750 ET/EX/ESD/ESE/ESF/ESG 79-89
Looks like this and the D8EA will both do.
Don't know if having two resistors - one in the plug and one in the cap will make any difference, if it's only to surpress noise, should be OK ??

I just picked up new plugs today for my 1981 gs750. I thought I needed the D8EA Ngk, however, when I went to install, the threads are too large...they don't fit. I looked at the existing plugs and they are currently DR8ES-L, which have a smaller thread diameter. I will be replacing with the DR8ES-L . Hope this helps.
