DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

First test fit of new forks and wheel

2012-11-07_12-40-26_899.jpg

Looks like it belongs there. Sweet. Can't wait to see the rear mocked up too!

How does it sit on its wheels, did you lose much ground clearance?

It does look nice, mine is also ready to go!

I didn't have time to set it down on the rear yet but the forks are at least 2" shorter plus the tire is a little shorter as well

Mine might go on this weekend and I am just over two inches shorter as well.

What are you doing for the bars?
Drilling the top stock clamp I have seen with a purch, not sure how strong it is.

I am probably gonna bolt on risers on like you said or maybe weld them on I'll let my welder guy make that call. As far as the steering it should improve some i believe a shorter tire should turn in better.

you will be okay drilling the top triple and mounting risers, but your exh is gonna be close and you should probably shorten your kickstand a bit

What forks are you using GSXR750 or GSXR1100? I have welded a plug into the bottom of the top triple before drilling to add strength.

BTW looking good. You need an 8" train light though :p

They are 750 forks for the strait bolt on convenience, and yup on the sidestand shortening the header should be ok its really tight to the side and I'm probably not brave enough to lean it that far. I am thinking or adding the thing on the bottom of the top tree to add strength like you did. I would love to have a train light but there not easy to come by. And Steve i like your headlight brackets where did they come from?

Headlight brackets are GSG moto but they ain't cheap. I have a couple train lights too

I like the gsg brackets also looked at lsl brackets about the same money they are round tube opposed to the flat cnc of the gsg hmmm save up then make a choice. I am interested in a train light how much would it take to get one from you?

I have a question about the carbon fiber treatment. In the last picture you posted it looks as though it is dull. In an earlier one it seems to have a satin look to it. Thought I would get your take.

Don't know exact clearance cant set it down till i get shock and lower link mounted or figure out some stands to set it at ride height.

More pics of upgrades
this is at static height 6.9 degrees up on swingarm 5" clearance on collector

What is the idea of the pivot bushings, I thought the stock swing arm axle would fit the new swing arm, looks like that is going straight through the new swing arm.

Bike is looking great!!
