I was looking at replacing my rear wheel and going from a 16" wheel to a 17" wheel. The reasons are two fold. First I was going to replace the weak 81.5-83 model gold drive spline with one from an earler 79-81 black spline. At the same time I thought that a 17" wheel would lower my cruising RPMs a little.
Here is my question:
What year/model bikes other then the 850's used the black splines and had a 17" wheel that would be a direct bolt on? I know that all the GS850G models used the 17" wheel and so did some of the 1980 GL's.
