    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

83 GS1100E air fuel mixture screws?

OK, I give up. Which part # on this diagram are the air/fuel mixture screws???

None of them. Suzuki doesn't sell the mixture screws separatly from the carbs. You will however get them with any aftermarket carb rebuild kit, or individually from some online venues.
 
Let me ask this another way then. I'm looking for a location. "Where" are they on this diagram? Before I start screwing with my carbs any more, I want to be sure I'm turning the right screws!!!!
 
:grin: Okay, if you are looking at the rack of carbs as they are oriented in the diagram, you are going to look for the vertical tube located just behind the front of the carbs(motor side) and just in front of the carb tops. There are probably brass caps in the holes, so unless the caps have been removed, you won't be able to see the screws.

If you look at #84 and follow the hose down to the body, the mixture screw is just to the left of the hose in the picture.

Thanks, I see what you're talking about. Obviously, the tank is going to have to come off for this adjustment!
 
Yup, take the tank off, grab yourself a drop tank, and be VERY carefull drilling the plugs to get them out.

Plugs? What plugs? I didn't look real hard but mine looked like there was a screw in the receded hole.

These screw are capped off from the factory. Your caps must have been removed. You are looking ot the top of the carbs right where they enter the intake?

A home made, temporary gas supply of some sort, I've seen them made out of old gas cans, anti-freeze jugs, milk jugs, large funnels, etc....... You need to have a gas supply on the bike long enough to adjust the carbs.
 
Yep and an old riding lawnmower gas tanks work perfect too-

They have two molded in bolt holes on top for mounting on the rider, that can be used to mount a hanger wire or bracket.

I use an inline off/on knob to keep the gas under control.

Believe it or not, I saw a guy going down the street with a coffee can and a rope as a bail. He had it around his neck!
 
I just use a piece of 4x4x4 wood block under the back of the tank with the rear mounting screws removed.
