A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Does anyone know of a company or person that can recover & duplicate the seat for an 83 GS1100SD Katana with the grey suede on the back of it ?

I'd bet Sargents' could do it. They are a little pricey but worth it. The seat on my 750 was done by them over 20yrs ago and it still looks great.

83 1100SD did not have the grey imitation suede on the back - those were 82 seats (1000 and 1100). 83 Kats had smooth vinyl in the back.

As far as anyone making 82 replacement seat covers, I've seen that here on the forum once - it may have come from Australia - I can't recall. I've heard there is a guy in France that will do it as well if you ship him your seat. Forget if the link to him is on Katana Central, or perhaps the North American Classic Kanata web site. But as far as I know, there is nobody in the US making an 82 Kat replacement seat cover.

I didnt know that, the seat has no cover at all on it now. Maybe I can get it done locally then. Do you know what the colors on it were and what type pf grain or finish on the vinyl ? Thanks for the help !

Now Im confused. I just did a search and every 83 Katana 1100SD shown has the seat with the black or blue in front & the lighter suede on the back. Could someone post a picture of a factory seat ?:?:

The 82 and 83 1100 seats have the same color pattern (except 83 750s were red and grey.) It's just 83 is smooth vinyl and the 82 is the imitation suede. I don't know anyone making an 83 cover either. I've sent emails to Corbin (they made a Corbin seat for Kats at one time) but I think you might have better luck if you call them.

I have several Kat seats (82, 83 [1100 and 750], an original old Corbin, plus the latest replacement seat you can get from Suzuki for $400). If you want some pics, send me your email and I'll shoot some off to you.

Pm sent. Ill check with Corbin on the seat. I have one on my harley but they are expensive
