A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

What is the widest tires I can run on my factory rims ?? And can i run the Metric radial tires if so what size would cross over to the 3.50/19 frnt. and 4.50/17 rear

The "normal" metric sizes are 100/90*19 and 130/90*17.
The recommended wheel width for a 140 wide tire is 3.5" and 4" for a 150 tire.
You can get a 3.5" wheel from a GS 1150 or a 4" wheel from a first gen GSXR 1100 with the same spoke pattern but neitheir are a straight fit...

so a 130 on the front and a 150 on the rear is max ?

Hi,

so a 130 on the front and a 150 on the rear is max ?

I'm thinking that might be too big. How wide are the rims?

Have a look at this chart...

Tire Size vs. Rim Width Chart

It will tell you the sizes possible but not necessarily the size that handle the best. Optimum tire width will depend on the rim width.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Sorry but I mislead you.
The sizes I was quoting are for the rear only!
The std rim sizes on an 110 Kat are 1.85 front and 2.5 rear.
You will not be able to go larger on the front unless you change the front fork as well.
For the rear, I gave you a few options available if you want to go to 3.5 or 4" wide.
