A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone have pictures of a REMOVED centre stand for a mid-eightes GS750E? A top and side view would be great.

I am going to a bike shop tomorrow that has a "box full" of center stands off of various bikes and would likely have the one I need. I would like to have a good idea what the right one looks like! The pervious owner removed the stand on my bike:cry:

Thanks,

VUR

I don't have one off the bike but my bike is naked at the moment. If someone doesn't get to if first I'll take some measurements when I get home. Should be able to match up pretty well at least.

Ok, here is what I have.

At the top end where it mounts each mount point on the center stand is 1.55in across and the distance between the inner edge of the mounts is 2.85in. Using your hand as a handy stand in for a centerstand... hold up your hand with your fingers spread but your middle finger down. Distance between pinky and pointer is 1.55, distance between thumb and index is 1.55 and the distance between pointer and index is 2.85in. Kinda clear?

Height is about 12in measured from the bolt centerline down to the pad along the tube and distance between the two main bottom pads is about 10.75in center to center.

I hope this helps! I'm going to be away from the bike for the rest of the night but I'll try and get back tomorrow if you have any more questions.

Happy hunting!

let me know if you don't get the pics form Silverhorse47. I have an 84 GS 750 with the centerstand mounted on the bike that I can take some pics of.
Keep in mind that most stands have only a single return spring BUT not on these models. They have 2 return springs, one hooks up to each side of the stand.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Suggest picked up a used center stand from Zdeno's in Kitchener Ontario today (with all the mounting hardware). Just need to clean it up a bit before putting it on. Now should I paint it Gloss or Flat Black....????
