So, a friend urged me to de-tourify my '82 GS850GZ and make her more of a road gobbler.
So, I dropped the triple tree so the tops of the fork tubes stick out by half an inch (to sharpen the steering) and put on Bikemaster European handlebars. Tucking the extra wiring and cables required some fiddling. The rear suspension is set at the highest setting and the front already had Progressives. Replacing a couple of (missing
) bolts on the front fender helped too.
So, the verdict...What a transformation. The bike really handles well. The riding position is forward leaning, but not uncomfortable.
