I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Major update! It runs again! It's been since 2015, but it's running again. Last night I installed the chain, lowered the lift to ground level & put a gallon of Sunoco's finest in it. After cranking a bit, she fired up & sat on fast idle. Turned off the choke & she purred as she always did.

The tires are hard as bowling balls, and my credit card needs to take a time out for a couple of weeks, but tires are next & then a test ride!!!

So I had a great weekend in the garage. I put the majority of the finishing touches on my fork upgrade...
My conversion is all but complete. I still need a speedo cable and tires, But I'm pretty happy with the conversion.
be safe guys.

I did manage a quick trip around the block on the aged and rock hard tires. I was reminded that I still need a speedo cable. None of the ones in the shop were suitable.

I also had to think twice about the GP style shifter... it may go back to standard. The new radial master cylinder works great... we as great as the bowling ball mounted on the front wheel would handle. I also have a slight "clunk" in the front end. More research needed to determine if it's in the neck bearings or forks.

So, tires, insurance & tags and it's official again. I had such a good time, that I tore down the Mrs' Kawasaki for a similar treatment.

Looks very nice. Good work.
But I'm curious to know if at any time you have measured the trail on that front end ?

I have not. I fully expect it is less than std, given there is less offset in the triples and a slightly shorter set of forks.

I might do that just out of curiosity & see what it is....

I expect it to be more than standard. Flat triples with less offset mean more trail, not less.

Still have much to do, finish brakes & fender mount, new chain & sprockets etc, etc, etc.

This be a long thread! I've been stuck in Lodi, again, too...in my mind. You might remind us in a signature that this is an '83 11E(S). I rather like the way it looks above, disguised as an E, rather than an ES.

That's a very attractive swing arm - looks slightly sturdy! Did you weld/build it yourself? If not, where is it native to?

Thanks Rob. While putting it back together last week, I did pause to look at it in it's "semi-naked" form, & I was attracted to it.

The swing arm is an "off the shelf" item from Metmachex in England. https://www.metmachexswingarms.co.uk/

Back in the middle of the '90s, I placed an order with Dennis Kirk & Metmachex on the same day. My swingarm from England arrived prior to the DK order!

Be safe everybody

The only issue I have with the fairing is, on first glance it reminds me of the GS700 Regan-tariff bike. I think it has something to do with the color scheme.
