A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A great way to waste a tank of gas...

555? I'd like to volunteer for that expedition. I've been wanting to hit that road for quite a while now.

Looks like you had a nice trip. I rode by Grand Lake which is not too far west of there last summer on my creative way home from Port Clinton. Couldn't stick around much as I had to get home that day. I think Indian Lake used to have an amusement park next to it and was quite the hot spot in the 50s. My Dad talks about going there for the weekend when he was in his late teens/early 20s.

Man, I want to hit 555 someday too. It's so hard to get out and do much riding with 1 year old twin girls. I am toying with the idea of taking a day day off work later this summer when my kids are being watched by my mother in law, and doing a dawn to dusk ride out that way.

They ARE however, protected, still, federally. I guess at one point they were on the verge of extinction but frankly now, they're a nuisance in many places and around here, highly overpopulated. And, man, when they poop...WOW!

Its the same up here to a degree. If they are nesting on a barge I am picking up technically it can't be moved until the geese have hatched. Of course sometimes the forces of nature { nature being a deckhands foot } can solve the problem. { So I've heard ! } By the way they are delicious.

Never been to Indian Lake, been to Grand a few times over the years, wish I had known of this... :-s

PS: Glad to see you're taking good care of Rex... (sigh)

Sorry my good friend. It was sort of spur of the moment. Rob called last minute and we picked him up on our way out. Plus it was the tues after the 4th and I figured you and Dale were prolly working anyway.

BUT....
Clear me some space in September. A weekend. I'm pulling a ressurection act on your SWOKZ entitled "The Triple Nickel Terrors" :D Overnighter to OH555 and your arse better be there or you are a S Q U A R E mannnn. ;)

nice stuff josh. a guy from the dnr here in mich told me what he claimed was the best way to get the geese to stop invading a beach. HE told me you have to beat one to death with a baseball bat, in front of their friends, as a warning. said they will never come back. i have never had the.....whatever it takes......to try this, but he swore this was the way to do it.

Here's a pic of my son's Vulcan Classic after a early morning run in with a school bus taking a left hander in front of him down in Texas a few months ago. He loved the bike, especially riding with his new wife, and after a few years of owning a Ninja 650R. Not anywhere to go when you have a 40' long vehicle cut you off! The front end was run over by the dual rear wheels of the bus as you can tell in the pic, but his backpack he was wearing managed to slow/stop his slide within a foot of getting crushed himself. Bike was a total with less than 800 miles on it and he had a bloodied ankle and wrenched back but survived to tell the story. Full load of kids on the bus had a story to tell at school that day. The school district's insurance paid for everything and the bus driver was cited and probably lost his job for his stupidity! He was wearing hi-vis vest (still driver "never saw him!") as required on military bases and full upper gear. Unfortunately not the pants or boots that day as he was in dress uniform.

I'm betting this would turn into an annual Ohio riders event. There are tons of great roads around 555. Especially the closer you get to the River.

Waste? Looks like you got the full value out of that tank of gas. Good on ya.
