A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So hi guys and gals. Haven`t been on for a while but sometimes life happens. I could use a little help. I`m getting ready to install the new (bought from a member here) gauges on my `81 Gs1000g and I`m trying to find what Suzuki calls "Plate, under" for the gauges. I don`t have a problem buying new but can`t decide where to order from. Also need a battery hold down as the one I ordered last year can`t be found. Probably lost in the move. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead.

Mike

Technically, this forum is not for technical questions, but I guess that "where to buy a part" isn't all that technical. :-k

Parts Outlaw has it for about $45. It appears to be the chrome cover behind the gauges? I have one in decent, but "less than perfect" condition that I removed from my bike when I installed a new one.

If your "battery hold down" is the rubber strap, it is $2.73 at Parts Outlaw.

For better or worse, Parts Outlaw has a flat-rate shipping charge of $9.99. Also note that, like all the other OEM vendors, it takes about two weeks to get your order. They have to order from the main warehouse, wait for delivery, then re-pack and ship to you.

.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the heads up. I think I try Parts outlaw as I`d like to have the parts new. The way thing's are going I don`t se me being on the road for at least another 2 weeks.

I use PartsOutlaw. They are great!

I'm gonna use "Bang" code and see if that still works.

As of two weeks ago, it did NOT work.

It was nice while it lasted, need to see if they will bring it back.
Doesn't necessarily have to be free shipping, maybe drop it to $5. :-k

Mike, I hope you find everything you need for your bike.

EDIT: I ordered over $100 of parts today and got the $9.99 shipping. Got the Starting Relay ($68.31) and the Fuse Case Assy ($51.97) plus other various bits & pieces.
