DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

We don't march . We hop (slowly) .
It'll prolly be an invasion of only 2 but we'll do what we can .

Cheers , Simon . :)

So is it done yet Leight? :p

And Simon, I will do what I can to make it 3 next time... I *really* wish I could get down there this time...

Almost, Pete, almost.
Just those two things to do, I think and I can put it in for it's roadie.

I'll go looking for a rec/reg on the weekend.

Oooh nice!

I'm doing the R/R hunt myself but looks like I'll be importing from the US just for a change. We really don't like helping ourselves out over here do we? There's literally crap loads of those Shindengen units on eBay in the US, but I couldn't find even one here in Aus yet...

I've got a Honda R/R on mine .
Works good and fairly cheeep (even cheeeeper at a wreckers ).

Might have to call in for a beer on the way through Pete ?
Well be down your way around 23 of January . Don't have any idea about when or if on the way home . Could end up via Broken Hill . (That's the beauty of a sorted GS , as you'll find out ) .

Cheers , Simon . :)

I knew I should have jumped in on Duaneage's offer when it was there..
Ah well, as I said to him, there's quick and the dead.

I'll dig around through the threads.
Duaneage has a link on how to convert the Honda unit so I might follow that plan.
Or lose it, throw a spanner and buy one of the Shindengens.

Just go to a Honda shop .
They're a piece of wee wee to hook up , and very goodly .

Cheers , Simon . ;)

wee wee?
Hahaha oh dear.
I'll check the local Nicest People dealer on the weekend.

I tried to put pi$$ , but it came out like this , **** .
Do you want me to see if I can get a part number off mine . Should fit your bike as well ?

Cheers , Simon .

The Shindengens are used on Hondas and Kwakas by the looks, tons on eBay US going by the list of compatible ones on BassCliff's site. Some dirt cheap (less than $US20), some way expensive...

And Simon, meeting up for a beer on your way through would be awesome actually, would definitely enjoy a meet and greet even if I can't go for the trip.

Given today's news it might be a meeting on four wheels for me, but if fortune smiles my way, I may even ride a bit with you depending which way you head...

Aah cool.
Thanks Pete, i'll look through BassCliff's list and Ebay.
See if I can't get one on the cheap.

If I can't find one then I'll get that part number off you thanks, Simon.
Cheers.

No probs mate, just wish there was at least a few locally we could have a go at

Is she all done and ready for the most recent pics?I saw the one in post 1 and i really like tha paint scheme.

Hey Chuck, sadly no.
I haven't touched it for quite a few months.
Some major league crap (read : Life) got in the way.

But over the next month I will have it done and make the most of the coming summer.
I vow not to go through another summer looking sadly out of my car window as bikes go by.

I'm going to get it on the road basically as is then polish it off next winter.

Mate I know that feeling! I also want mine done for this summer... had the paint conversation today and it may just end up ok...

Rattle Can Black is a perfectly acceptable subsitute in situations like this.

Jeeeze , I feel like a wanker .
Checked the numbers on my R/R and it's a Shindengen . :o
I was told that it comes up as a Honda part . (Probably does for all the other Jappers as well ) .
The number on mine is SH2?2-12 0.1 . Couldn't read the middle number . To old . (The label , not me) .

Pete , a beer is always well had .
We'll be heading DOWN the road . Can't be more specific than that I'm afraid . The plan prolly wont change much from that till after said beer (They'll be lights if we're riding though) . We tend to "left or right" when we get to the fork . Rarely any earlier . So if you happen to be up for a ride , it's done .

Cheers , Simon . :)

Going by what's on the list on BassCliff's site, I expect that would be a SH232-12... however it looks like Leigh and I will be taking a $16.00 gamble on a cheaper unit (at least I have already anyway)... if it works then yeehaa, if it doesn't then it was only $16.00 and I'll blame Leigh coz he pointed me to it :p

Looking like my situation has stabilised again, so everything still on track for the moment meaning a catch up and potentially a ride is likely to be on the cards :D
