    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If the old married couple have stopped bickering:rolleyes:.The rain stopped so I got the wheel off.Drilled and tapped.If they weren't I think I'd have given up on this idea.I really want to do this as this will be a 2 up bike for me and the wife.Dale:you think the lowers would polish up?Got the stuff to do it.
 
yes they will polish nicely. spray them with paint stripper to remove all the clear. a light hand sanding with some 600 and polish away.
 
OK sounds good.I love the polishing process.I'm not as fanatical as Steve but I like it.Just thought the exchange was funny,being me I just had to comment.

I was told when I was shopping for my header they were close enough to work... but I don't know.

I got the last customers bike done early today..so I got the right hand caliper out. I took it apart and cleaned it inside and out. wire brushed all parts down and got the old paint off. I then repainted all the parts with black caliper paint. I got a NEW piston seal and a mint condition piston and built you a new caliper. Only things you will need are the dust boots and the little o rings that go on the carrier pins. You got a new bleeder valve and a like new banjo bolt as well. I will install the new piston seal and snap pics of everything before i reassemble it.

Gee thanks Chuck,all the things I would have done.Got to go through the manual I downloaded from BassCliff to know what o rings you are talking about.:oHave to tell me what paint you used so I can match it on the other side.

Go to bikebandit.com and look at the front braker caliper schematic..youll need numbers 3, 5 and 10..just a few bucks for the new stuff..Duplicolor black caliper paint..be sure to use caliper paint because its formulated to withstand the brake fluid. Regular paint will run right off if brake fluid gets on it.
 
Heres some pics of the rebuilt caliper. I took some pics of the piston , the new seal, and the inside of the piston bore so you can see they are like new. I then assembled everything and this is the caliper that i will be sending.. Hope it passes inspection.








 
Pass inspection?Considering I would gladly taken the before caliper what do you think?You are far to generous helping me like this and I really appreciate the time and effort.Now I've just got to make the other one as nice

I will leave the repainting of the rotor hubs to you!!! I threw the original piston that came out of this caliper away..was rusted and pitted extremely bad. I had the regulator up at 110 PSI line pressure to blow the piston out of the housing! And it wasnt moving very fast even at that pressure! When it popped out it made a good loud pop.
