A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Absolutly new and need some advice about a broken part

Seriously man, go to autozone, or pep boys or whatever, and buy an impact driver right now. You probably still have enough left to get it out with one, but you may not if you fiddle with it much longer. You CANNOT work on these bikes without one. Unless this is the last repair you ever plan on doing, you're going to need it in the future anyway. That includes taking it apart to part it out. You'll never get it broken down without one.

I am the friend that sold Card930 the bike in question here. I'd just like to commend you folks for this extremely amazing community here. We're both pretty newbish when it comes to mechanical inclination, and your advice thus far has been amazing. Thank you all.

You got it! Let me know how much oil comes out when you remove that cover. I'd like to remove mine to repolish

I found out about the dent in the cover when I was performing the (first for me) oil change yesterday. I noticed it leaking out that crack just as i was adding a little oil, so there's almost none in it right now.

And I'm going to buy an impact driver later today. I just have 1 screw to get out. And I'll be looking to replace the screws with hex screws, too.

You can get them on ebay. Do a search for like gs750 stainless or something. I think I got mine for around 30 bucks, and that was for all 4 covers, the valve cover, breather cover, and I still ended up with some extras. Who knows what they were supposed to be used for

starter motor cover?

While I was at work, my buddy got the last screw out for me using easy outs, and the new cover arrived on Friday for us to reattach. That's the goal for today.

those who have a god, please pray to them to protect Mr. Card930 as he embarks upon learning to conduct his first motorcycle.

Thanks again, and cheers, everyone.

I've now operated the bike for the first time.
Huzzah.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
