    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Acewell Speedo's

Copy of recent communication with Koso:

Can you tell me how long standard shipping is to the address below please. Will it ship from the US / Canada? 8 to 10 days by regular UPS service.

Will there be any duties due on top of your selling / shipping price? No, we pay all duty fee and brokerage fee, so you don't have to pay anything else.

Does this model have a gear indicator? No there is no gear indicator on the XR-SR

My bike (1983GS750ES) is not water cooled, will the water temp indicator work with an oil temp sensor? The range seems sufficient. Yes the temperature sensor can be use on oil temperature without problem.

Lastly how do you pick up signal for Tach? My existing speedo has an electronic tach so can I use the stock output to connect to this gauge set? We use different way to pick up the RPM signal. Please check this link and you will get all details:

PJ - I'm guessing their point about changing to "R" type plugs & shielded leads would also help the tach on your Acewell... It's in those instructions somewhere.

I'm definitely in two minds between the Koso XR-SR or the Acewell...

Dan :)

One of those Koso GP style speedometers along with a few others were at my local powersports store on clearance in the back from $350 to something in the neighborhood of $150. I can get more info if anyone is seriously interested (considering they're still there). I can get it and flip it.

I may be interested in one to Please PM or email me if you can get another one
I was looking at the trail tech vapor but this one may fit the bill better;)

Koso rx1n for $179.95

There are a few misc. gauges as well.

I have a deep urge for one of these. They are pricey as hell though.

I'd eventually like to make a GS cafe from a mid '70's 700ish bike, and I think I'll have to buy one of these. Almost $800 dollars though! I like the M-unit and the M-lock on their website. Electronic fuse/relay/flasher replacement, and a RFID ignition lock. Thinking about those for the 1100. I really like the glass tube key you can sew into a glove fingertip, for the RFID system.
