OK, so I ordered the manual for my bike, a new set of rubbers for the spark plug caps and talked to the local shop owner.
Still got a funny bogging ad 3500 to 4500 RPMs Can't figure out what's wrong with it. So I tore apart my carbs yesterday. First time I've had to do this on this bike.
OK, first of all, the left carb (86 550s have 2 two-barrel) was leaking out of the boot going to the airbox. the left one seemed fine.
When I took it apart, the first thing I noticed was that the RIGHT carb had the float needle in upside down
.
So, basically, someone didn't put the carbs together right, and there could be anything misadjusted on them.
What I'm looking for...
1)float heights
2)jet size (2 main & 2 pilot in 1 bowel)
3)slide needle height
4) anything else pertinent
