DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

... getting ready to head to Barber ( Leeds AL) next month for vintage days and am just finishing off a carb rebuild for the GS1000EC.

Last item I need are the air box boots to the carb but all the supplier fiches do not reference this item.

Does anyone have a part number? preferred supplier?

Much thanks

I have tried to find the listing for the boots as well. but as far as I can tell, they are only available with the air box.

I have three good ones and one that's near the hardness of a brick. the brick will soon be soaking in antifreeze in and attempt to soften it up.

plus four more spare bricks to practice on

Thanks Bronco - my "bricks" are beyond help so I need new ones

... just spoke with Rob @ Z1 ... seems this boot is an OEM part (P/N 13110-49000) available through Suzuki .... $116 plus shipping

TBC - to be continued

That's the P/N for the intake boots (head side). they're not what you wanted...

OH COME ON!!! Those ones on the box i gave you werent exactly bricks!!!I have seen WAY WAY worse .

If your intake boots are hard as bricks try boiling them, they soften up and are much easier to put on

Interesting... This is the first im hearing of rehabilitating the boots...
so far we have antifreeze and boiling.... Any other proven methods?

Both my manifold boots and air box boots were hard as rock. I just sprayed them with vinyl cleaner/preservative every once and while when the bike was apart for a few months and they're now as good new. That was 6 years ago, now I just spray them maybe once a year and they've maintained their softness.
