DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of where to buy new rubber gaskets that go between the the airbox sidecovers and the airbox on these old gs' (specifically a 1979 GS750EN) on the parts fiche they don't have it listed. My bike is missing one on the left side. I'm going to weather strip both covers but feel like it would be advantageous to have that in there as well.

This is an amazing site with great contributors. Learned so much allready.
Thanks everyone!

Hi Mr. andrewm,

That part is integral to the airbox, it's not sold separately. Does this mean that the upper half of your airbox is exposed on that side? If so, you might be able to fab up something using a similarly shaped rubber piece and some rubber cement. See: How To Glue Rubber. Or you could place weatherstripping on the cover so as to seal properly. Or you could search Ebay or the Parts Wanted and Parts For Sale sections of this forum. In any case, let me share some GS lovin'. :)

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome Basscliff, allready been checking out all your great info thanks.

On my gs750 it doesn't cover the top of the airbox like it does on the 850. basically it just fits inside the cover and that's it. But without it there's obviously a decent amount of air getting in. Probably why my no.1 plug fouls every 400km or so. I'll see if I can track one down on ebay or fab something up.

Thanks again!

Andrew
