A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am not singing their high praise here but I do have to say that they went out of their way to keep in contact with me and get me the part despite the fact that K&N told them it would be back ordered. Sold me the filter for the same price listed on K&N's web site and gave me free shipping. I just got the filter tonight. I am very happy with this purchase so I thought I would plug them. Cost me 48 bucks for a K&N high flow replacement air filter for my 83 GS1100E. Took just a little over two weeks to get it despite back order. Not too bad. Free shipping, I like that :D

K&N stock replacement in the original airbox

K&N stock replacement in the original airbox

Hey Hoomie, it looks you're using the stock airbox on your new (to you!) 1100. I've been thinking of doing the same to minimize the effect of weather changes, but putting on a set of Jardine headers. Are you running headers on the 1100? I assume I'll need a Dynojet kit to get mixture right, and thought I'd ask your advice, as I know you went through a lot to get the jetting on your 1000 with pods. I know that I'll probably need a different stage kit, and wondered if you had any thoughts on the subject. Thanks.

If you're running the stock airbox you may not need the kit. Get the exhaust first then do some plug reads. If you need the kit Stage 1 should be all you need and it will have enough adjustment built in so if you go to a K&N replacement filter element you'll still be okay.
