A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Everyone probably knows or has purchased parts from Alpha Sports. Across a GT750, SV1000s and now a GS750, they've been brilliant. It's not just amount of parts they carry but the postage time - especially to Australia. Their site is a little no-frills but the service has been as good as anyone else I've dealt with.

G'day mate . Welcome to the fun .. farm . The Yanks will give you a bit of stick about how expensive Alphasports are . I use them almost exclusively . Can't beat their prices and service down here . The freight can be a bit over the top , but even so , taking this into account , beat anyone here by easily 50% . Buying lots of stuff at once is the go . I buy anything up to $4,000 worth at a time . Cheers , Simon.:)

I am one that has done comparisons on many shopping trips and Alpha has usually run about 30-50% more than the next-closest competitor. The ones on my most-shopped list are Babbitt's, Carolina Cycle and Cycle Parts Nation.

Here is my list so you can compare for yourself:
(I have not been interested in shipping to Australia, so that might be the part that makes the deal for you.)

Alpha Sports
Babbittsonline
Bike Bandit
Carolina Cycle
Cycle Parts Nation
CYCLE-RE-CYCLE
Full throttle
Motogrid
MR Cycles
PartShark
Partsnmore
Ron Ayers
Z1 Enterprises

Happy shopping. :D

.

Thanks for the list.
When I had the SV1000s I used to drool over Babbitts but couldn't get them to post what I wanted (anyone bubble wrapped a fairing?). I know there are some postage warehouses in the US that will take delivery, then forward items to Australia from suppliers that won't. Does anyone know any?

That's why I go through Alphasports . Might not be the cheapest , but soooooo hassle free . Their prices beat anyone down here by as much as 70% so they are a bargain to us . When you are dealing with someone on the other side of the world , the last thing you need is to get stuffed around . They'll get my money every time . Cheers , Simon . :)
