    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

posting for archival purposes, cams degreed to 105/107. learning experience for sure.

Ok, getting closer. To recap:

Top end rebuild. Head work done by Terry (headsbikesmopars), 1150 intake valves installed, radius valve job, head flows about 94 cfm @ .310. 1150 cams degreed to 105/107. Valve clearances set. Manual cam chain tensioner. Bores honed with new rings. Head and base gaskets, head is torqued to spec. New stator to compliment the existing sh-775. New oil pan gasket, cleaned out the sump pickup screen. Jugs and head painted. BS36 Carbs are on their way back from Bill (chef1366) after their cleaning/jetting/fixing/painting session in california. New dyna green coils.

Can anyone think of anything I have missed here? Any final steps that need doing before the fire meets the fuel?

Other mods to this bike include: 750 oil pump gears, top end oiler, 1150 oil cooler, racetech springs and emulators up front, fork brace, Ikon shocks in back, salty monk brake mod, posplayer's SSPB, APE pods, Yosh 4-1 pipe, GSXR gauge cluster, R1 quick turn throttle....

Oh, that reminds me, I have a little digital voltmeter kicking around I would like to mount up somewhere...

Alrighty, thanks to the following people for assistance, both directly and indirectly....RapidRay, chef1366, loud et, thecafekid, nessism, steve, posplayer, saltymonk, headsbikesmopars, and of course basscliff. And also the gsresources at large.

Let me know your thoughts....

I will try to get some pics up, but the big news is.....

I HAVE A MOTORCYCLE AGAIN!

Fired up on the second press of the button today. No untoward noises, everything seems to be doing what it should do, took her out for a hot 40 miles this afternoon, running a little lean, so gave another 1/2 turn out on the mixture screws, per chef's advice. I will put about 50 hot miles on her tomorrow, see if the carbs respond to the changes. Feels strong, seems freer-revving, quicker all around. Definitely SOUNDS meaner..... happy happy happy....

Morning update, pulls HARD through the rev range, feels like it wants to pull BEYOND the 9500 redline....1/2 turn out just about cured the lean burble on decel, I do have a little off-idle stumble around 2800-3200 rpms. Carbs have not been vacuum synched yet, so maybe that is it? waiting for the 100 mile retorque/valve adjust for that.

Greg has not posted and hasn't returned any phone calls.
I hope he is OK
Anyone hear from him?

Bike is running well (mostly), I have a track day scheduled monday, so that should be fun!
