DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi all, ive got to change a leaking fork oil seal, on my GS 750 EZ, the question is regarding the Antidive unit on the front of the fork, can i just undo the bolt that joins the antidive, and if so will it start leaking brake fluid everywhere, is there a correct method in changing a fork oilseal on one of these bikes, any tips would be helpful, also ive purchased a pair of replacement oilseals on ebay, thinking they would be OEM seals, but when they arrived they turned out to be made in italy, getting OEM parts from USA is expensive, plus the cost of shipping, around 80 to 90 dollars for fork oilseals, is there a dealer anywhere that can supply parts for a better price, would the seals from italy be ok.

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that when I bought my 1100EZ eight months ago, it needed fork seals to pass inspection. The seals were less than $10, the installation was $300.

If you remove the anti-dive line it will in fact leak brake fluid everywhere. I removed mine all together.

My local non-specific dealear can get most things, but not as cheap as ebay and I'd be surprised there's not a general bike dealer near you who can't get routine stuff like fork seals. Usually Athena brand, but I've got mixed feelings about them. For my next fork seals I'll mail order from Franco's Motorbikes in London, who I've had a decades-old relationship with.
www.francosmotorbikes.com - they'll send across the water, no problem, and not charge much for it.

Thanks Dave, I will look on the link and see if they can supply OEM replacement parts.

Paul.

does the antidive unit come apart without leaking brake fluid, I need to remove the fork legs.

I will try and source OEM parts from a local supplier, shipping is expensive, there must be a dealer somewhere in Ireland or the UK who can supply OEM parts for my bike.
