A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey my chain is old and crappy and just popped off for the second time and totally wrecked every thing i my clutch housing. so if any of you guys know of a good place to get a new chain that would be awsome.

I dont care about getting the best chain just one that works. the shop in town here wants $176 for a chain and there is no way I am gunna pay that.

Replace both sprockets also. If the chain is in that bad of shape, its a for sure the sprockets are garbage and will destroy any new chain you install in a VERY short tome.

z1 enterpises or dennis kirk are both good sources for sprockets and chains.

ok so I know I have a 108 link chain but what is the other size the width or something?I think I have a 530? on my gs550t

Popped off!!???

For the SECOND TIME?????

Do you have a death wish?:-k

And by "wrecked everything". Do you mean punched a hole in the engine case? That would be very bad.

Well it was my falt the first time because of my lack of knolage. but this time it I dont know why I have kept a watch full eye on it ever since the first time but I was just playing with the throttle(pulling it back really quick a bunch of times so the bike would kick me back and it came off) when I was in first gear just pulling out of the parking lot. then a loud pop like I threw a rod, so I coasted over to the side walk and presto there was a big patch of oil on the side walk.

So my buddy went and got his truck and then we went home and I took off the clutch cover on the left side of the bike and the chain was wrapped up over it's self and the clutch push rod was bent and broken off. luckly that is where the oil came from and not from any where else. I turned it over today once I got the chain off and she is just fine.

If anybody has an extra pushrod for the clutch I think the 650 one will work on my 550.

Please let me know.
