A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Any way to verify carb internals?

On my GS750, the friend who owned it before I did purchased a carb rebuild kit from eBay, and used the parts in the kit.

Is there any way to verify that the parts in the kit were the correct ones for my bike?

http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showpost.php?p=1280339&postcount=149

The number on my engine is in the 60k range, so I assume that column 4 has the right info.

Thanks.

The only person that can verify what is inside the carbs on your bike is you. Be warned IMO rebuild kits are crap.

The Mikuni original jets if you have them usually clean up quite well and as long as no one had dragged bits of wire through them for cleaning purposes they should be OK. Failing that you can purchase new the Mikuni jets, needles, etc.

It is the needle and needle jet that is most likely to wear. BTW the jet sizes in the Suzuki specs are Mikuni sizes, so if you have something else in your carbs that are not Mikuni you cannot do a straight comparison. If I was you I would get new jets, needles, etc.

Following are the GS750 Carb Specs from the factory manual.

Are the original Mikuni parts marked in any way so that you can tell which one they are? Is there a way to measure them to find some of this out? I note that some of the parts have numbers on them, but I don't know if it means anything or not, especially if the part is aftermarket.

I would really really really really really really prefer not to have to buy new parts if there is a way to identify what's already in there.

The square with the smaller square inside it. Just pulled the jets out of extra set of 550 carbs and all marked with that symbol.
I only see it on the jets and no other parts of carbs so they must source them from somewhere else.

a set of 4 jets will cost less than $15 shipped from Z1 or www.jetsrus.com

Please update your signature, I can't tell what generation 750 we're talking about here
